SUSAN M. MATTA

Susan M. Matta has represented unions, benefit funds and employees for 20 years. She joined Allison, Slutsky & Kennedy, P.C. as a shareholder in 2022.

 Susan began her career as a union organizer, and served as General Counsel to a large public sector labor organization for almost 10 years. She applies the skills gained in those roles when advising labor organizations on internal union affairs and strategic planning, and providing training to union staff, stewards and members. Susan has represented clients in the public and private sectors, and has extensive experience representing firefighters in Illinois. In addition to her experience with collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and interest arbitration, she also represents clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Specifically, Susan has experience handling representation and unfair labor practice cases before the Illinois Labor Relations Board, Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board, and National Labor Relations Board.
